MAXICOURSE ASIA MALAYSIA
 
 

Penang International Dental College
successfully conducted the Maxicourse Asia Malaysia,first 300 hours implant course in Malaysia, jointly organized by Penang International Dental College & American Academy of Implant Dentistry. AAID's MaxiCourses® are among the most respected and comprehensive training programs in implant dentistry. Offered in university settings throughout the U.S.A and internationally, the course presenters include renowned university faculty, world-class clinicians in implant dentistry. The implant course was a great success & well received in Malaysia. The course was conducted over the period of 10 months in 5 modules, from October 2009 to August 2010. The participants included academicians & private practitioners from Malaysia, Singapore, India & United States of America. The faculty list included 15 eminent implantologists from USA, France, United Kingdom, Lebanon & India.

The graduation ceremony and dinner was held on 13th August 2010 at Hotel E & O, Penang. The guests list included Dato’Dr.Sharavanan, MD & CEO of PIDC, Prof’Dr.Ramasamy, Deputy chief minister of Penang State, Dr. Shankar Iyer, Director of Maxicourse, senior faculty members of PIDC, Senior practitioners from Penang, officials of Penang government hospital & staffs & students of PIDC. Dato’Dr.Sharavanan thanked the Ministry of Health & Malaysian Dental council for encouraging PIDC to conduct such continuing professional development programs. The next Maxicourse will be conducted in PIDC from February 2011 to November 2011.

SECOND COLLEGE DAY- COLOSSUS 09 (5th December 2009 )
 
The second college day celebrations of Penang International Dental College were held on 5th December 2009 at Sunway hotel, Penang. Honourable MD Dato’Dr.S.Sharavanan was the chief guest & gave away the prizes for the winners of college day sports events.

Following academic prizes were also given for students who excelled in their year II, III & IV exams:

The Malaysian Consul General visit to Vinayaka Mission University, Salem on 18 July, 2009
 
 

A
special programme is organized by the Vinayaka Missions University, Salem. The event called ‘ONE MALAYSIA’ programme was initiated by Penang International Dental College and Malaysian students collaborated by the University as part of the Awareness Programme for Malaysian community. About 250 students attended the function.

During the function the Chancellor of the University Dr. A. Shanmuga Sundaram took the opportunity to call together the Consul General and other officials of the University. During the call both sides exchanged views and information on education matters, particularly in promoting education between the two countries as well as to look into the welfare of Malaysian students studying at Vinayaka Mission University.

The function of ‘ONE MALAYSIA’ programme was held on Saturday evening 18 July, 2009 at one of the hotels in Salem and was attended by Home Based Staff, Officials from the University and Malaysian students. During the event the Consul General as the chief guest delivered a speech mainly touching on the Malaysian Government vision to achieve the objective of ‘ONE MALAYSIA’ People First Performance Now. The Malaysian students also participated in the programme by showing their pledge to support the idea of ‘ONE MALAYSIA’ People First Performance Now which was witnessed by the Consul General on behalf of the Malaysian Government. The programme ended with dinner hosted by the University.

Official inauguration of PIDC clinic (14th February 2009)

The clinic of Penang International dental college was officially opened by chief minister of Pulau Pinang YAB Tuan’ Lim Guan Eng.
High Commissioner of India, H.E. Mr Ashok K. Kantha, was the guest of honour.

DEEPARAYA FUNCTION 2008 (30th October 2008)
 
 
 
VENUE : GROUND BEHIND V.M.K.V MEDICAL COLLEGE

A special function was organized by PIDC to celebrate both DEEPAVALI and HARI RAYA festivals together. An exhibition of fire crackers was the limelight of the function. Honorable Chancellor Dr.A.Shanmugasundaram precede the function. All the PIDC and JPA students participated in the presence of our Honorable Chancellor. This was followed by dinner hosted by our Honorable MD-PIDC.

DEEPARAYA FUNCTION 2007 (12th November 2007)
 
   
VENUE : PIDC Basketball Ground, Salem.

A special function was organized by PIDC to celebrate both DEEPAVALI and HARI RAYA festivals together as Deeparaya. An exhibition of fire crackers was the limelight of the function. All the PIDC, BDS and JPA students participated. This was followed by dinner hosted by our Honorable MD-PIDC at Cafe Malaysia.

TWENTIETH NATIONAL CONFERENCE OF THE INDIAN SOCIETY FOR DENTAL RESEARCH (8th September 2007)
 
 
 
VENUE : PIDC Auditorium, Salem.

The Bi-decennial Conference of the Indian Society for Dental Research with the theme “Everything in Dentistry & Beyond” was held at Penang International Dental College, Salem campus on September 08 – 09, 2007. This is the Second National Conference being held in Penang International Dental College within the short span of 2 years. The Conference was attended by 230 Delegates, from 18 Dental Colleges, spread all over the country. 5 Invited Guest Lectures, 85 scientific papers and 25 posters were presented during the 2 days of the Conference. Guest Lectures were telecast live in both the Auditoriums. The Indian Council of Medical Research supported this Conference for the first time. In Dental Research, many questions are unanswerable and many questions are questionable: we are still sorting out how best to ask and answer the right question: fortunately Dentistry has exceptional Scientists researching them.
